solid waste transfer station
A
company wants to open a solid waste transfer facility in Yuma, but some
residents of the nearby Sunrise Mobile Home Estates aren’t happy about
it and plan to object.
The Planning and
Zoning Commission will consider on Monday a request for a conditional
use permit that would allow the facility within 600 feet of a
residential zoning district. The meeting will take place at 4:30 p.m.
Monday in the City Hall Council Chambers, 1 City Plaza.
Hydrochem
AZ wants to use the property located at 2180 S. Pacific Ave., which is
within the Light Industrial District, to operate a solid waste transfer
facility.
The facility would be used to
process non-hazardous waste, as defined by federal regulations,
according to a staff report. It would operate from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Monday through Friday and employee 15 people.
Pancrazi Real Estate Services, on behalf of RTB Enterprises, is the applicant requesting the permit.
The
commission will hold the second of two public hearings for a request to
change the land use designations for properties located at the
northeast, southeast and southwest corners of Avenue 7E and 44th Street.

the Michael T. Hall Living Trust, is requesting that the 325 acres be
changed from low density residential, commercial, public/ quasi-public
and resort, recreation and open space to low density residential, medium

Ramiro and Monique Sandoval want to rezone the lots, each about 7,000
square feet, from general commercial to medium density residential,
while maintaining the existing Infill Overlay District.
One
case that won’t be considered is a request by Jon Matheus, on behalf of
FS1234 Texas LLC, for a conditional use permit to allow a cannabidiol
(CBD) extraction facility in the Heavy Industrial District. The property
is located at 7211 E. 30th St. This case had been withdrawn.
